FoxCo Risk was founded in 2013 by Dr Greg Ker-Fox. Greg studied civil engineering at Stellenbosch University and continued there with a Masters degree in technology management (awarded cum laude) and a PhD in project risk and reliability.

Greg joined global engineering, contracting and construction services company Murray & Roberts in 2002. He spent three years under secondment to the client on the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor as project risk manager, before moving to the corporate head office where he served eight years as Murray & Roberts’ group risk executive. Responsibilities included convening the group’s risk and project oversight committees, as well as developing and implementing the in-house project portfolio management system to regulate group-wide bid authorisation.

In 2007 Greg received IRMSA’s Risk Manager of the Year award and is a Fellow of the Institute. In 2008 he was appointed to the board of the London based Engineering and Construction Risk Institute. In April 2014, he was appointed as an Executive Advisor on education and training to Institute's Chief Executive. the In 2010, Greg together with then chief executive Brian Bruce, helped to established the Murray & Roberts Chair in Construction Engineering and Management at Stellenbosch University.

While conducting his postgraduate studies at Stellenbosch, Greg served as executive director of TRAC South Africa between 1995 and 2001, taking the programme through its start-up phase and re-engineering the business model for local conditions. TRAC is a technology based outreach programme supporting schools in developing communities. The TRAC team has grown the programme exponentially over the past decade, achieving half a million learner contact sessions annually with a measured impact on their Physical Science results.
